My Approach

Every person arrives in therapy with a unique history, set of relationships, strengths, and challenges. For that reason, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Therapy should be tailored to the individual—not the individual to a particular therapeutic model.

I believe that every person possesses strengths, resilience, and an innate capacity for growth. Therapy is a collaborative process of making sense of the experiences and patterns that have shaped your life while recognizing the strengths you've already developed along the way. Although I bring clinical knowledge, experience, and perspective to our work together, you are the expert on your own life.

Many of the patterns that now feel frustrating or limiting once served an important purpose. They helped you adapt, cope, or survive under difficult circumstances. Rather than judging those patterns or trying to eliminate them, we'll work to understand them. That understanding often creates the freedom to make different choices and discover new ways of moving through the world.

My work is integrative and individualized. Depending on your needs, I may draw from EMDR, psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, family systems, and other evidence-based approaches. Rather than asking you to fit into a particular method, I adapt my approach to fit you.

I view therapy as an active, collaborative process. I'll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, share observations, and offer honest feedback when I think it may be helpful. While therapy often involves difficult conversations, it doesn't have to be serious every minute. When it feels right, humor can bring perspective, soften self-criticism, and remind us of our shared humanity.

Ultimately, my goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more connected to yourself, more confident in your own judgment, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges. Therapy is a place to build that foundation—not a place you need to remain indefinitely.
